Heat oven to 425
Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt
Stir in apples
Lay out your crust into your pie plate.
Pour Apple mixture inside, dot with butter (1 TBSP)
Cover with top crust, crimp edges together to make a seal
Put slits into crust to create vent
Put a sheet tray in oven under pie & prepare for possible overspills, it will happen.
Bake 40-50 min
Serve warm pie with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream or whipped cream
