Step:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.

  2. Wash the sprouts.

  3. Peel off the loose outer leaves until you're left with sprouts that have leaves that are tightly wrapped.

  4. Cut off the stems.

  5. Slice the sprouts in half.

  6. Place the sprouts in a bowl and add the olive oil, salt, pepper, and herbs.

  7. Toss to coat.

  8. Spread the sprouts on a baking sheet, cut sides down.

  9. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

  10. Toss with the bread crumbs and the juice of the lemon half (if you are using it).

  11. Serve immediately.


Ingredients

  1. 1 lb brussels sprouts
  2. 2 tbsp olive oil
  3. 1/2 lemon (optional)
  4. 1/4 tsp black pepper
  5. 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt (I use the lesser amount)
  6. 1 tsp herbs (oregano, thyme, etc.)
  7. 2 tbsp toasted bread crumbs
